Description
At a Glance
A compact gas saw for limbing, brush and small trees rather than firewood production. The 12 in bar and 9.26 lb powerhead keep it manageable on a ladder-free pruning job, while the 25.4cc engine runs a 40:1 mix. It is a two-hand tool: the top-handle shape is compact, not permission to cut one-handed.
A 12-Inch Saw for Limbs, Not Logs
Bar length decides what a saw is good at. A 12 in bar reaches through branches, saplings and storm damage, and it keeps the whole tool light enough to carry along a fence line or trail. This 25.4cc saw is built around that job. It is not a firewood saw, and treating it like one is how people burn up a small engine.

Power, Weight and Reach
The engine is rated 1.2 HP at up to 11,500 rpm, and the powerhead weighs 9.26 lb (4.2 kg). The bar cuts material up to about 9.84 in (250 mm) across. Those numbers describe a limbing saw: quick to start, easy to carry, and happiest in wood that fits inside the bar rather than filling it.
A top-handle layout is compact around the engine. It is still a two-handed tool. Keep both hands on the handles, stand to the side of the cut line, and never reach across the bar while it is moving.
Fuel and Chain
Mix two-stroke oil at 40:1 with 92 octane or better gasoline. Straight gas will seize the engine, and old mix loses octane and can leave deposits. Mix small batches you will use within a few weeks.
The chain is 3/8 in pitch, 0.050 in gauge and 45 drive links. Tension it with the tool-free knob: the chain should sit against the bar but still pull around by hand with light resistance. Check it again after a few cuts, because a new chain stretches as it warms.
Cutting Practice
Start the saw on the ground or on a stable surface, never while it is balanced on the wood you are cutting. Let the chain reach full speed before it touches wood, and let the saw do the cutting instead of forcing it. If the bar starts to bind, stop and open the kerf rather than levering the saw.
Watch the tip. Kickback comes from the top corner of the bar contacting wood, and on a short bar the tip is close to everything. Keep the tip clear and stand outside the path the saw would take if it kicked.
Maintenance Between Uses
Clean the bar groove and oil holes, check the chain for damaged cutters, and keep the air filter clear. Store the saw with the fuel tank either full or empty rather than partly filled for months, and run the carburetor dry before long storage.

Wicked trail saw!
Love this saw, I’ve been taking the mini out clearing trails and it is awesome! Starts easy, lightweight, sounds beefy.. great to mount on a dirt bike or snowmobile for those early season rides when windfalls can be a problem!

25.4cc 12 " Chain saw
I bought two saws, the 25.4cc 12″ saw and was packaged well with no damage upon arrival. Assembled easy and fires up first pull. As do all chain saws the chain lube has a small slow leak. If your not a lumber jack and need a saw for around the homestead I highly recommend
