Quick Answer

This electric hoist lifts 660 lb on a single line and 1320 lb when the cable is doubled through the pulley hook, with 39.4 ft / 12 m of travel on the single line. It runs on 1150 W and is operated by wireless remote. A limit switch stops the hook at the top, an auto-brake holds the load when power stops, and an emergency stop cuts the motor.

1320 lb Electric Hoist, 1150W Garage Hoist with 328 ft Wireless Remote and Auto-Brake

This is a 1320 lb electric hoist for lifting loads vertically in a garage, workshop or shed. The motor runs on 110 V and drives a steel cable through a pulley block. It is controlled by wireless remote, and it is meant to lift, hold and lower a load on a hook, not to pull it sideways.

Single line versus double line

The capacity printed on the supplier table and the number on the control graphic can look different, because the load rating changes with the way the cable is run. On a single line, the hook hangs directly from the cable and the hoist lifts 660 lb to 39.4 ft / 12 m. When the cable is doubled through the supplied pulley hook, two cable runs share the load, the rating rises to 1320 lb and the travel halves to 19.7 ft / 6 m. Decide which mode you need before buying: the heavier rating costs you half the lifting height.

Control

Control is wireless only, with a range the supplier lists as 328 ft. There is no wired handle on this model. The control includes an emergency stop, and the motor has a limit switch at the top of travel so the hook stops instead of pulling into the housing.

Brake and holding

The hoist has an auto-brake: when the motor stops, the brake holds the load where it is, so releasing the button does not drop the hook. That is what makes a hoist different from a rope puller. It also means the load stays suspended if the power is cut, so never stand or work underneath a hanging load.

Mounting and first use

Mount the hoist to a beam or bracket rated for the load you intend to lift, not to a shelf or a timber rafter that was never designed for it. Check that the cable runs straight from the drum to the hook without rubbing on the frame. Run the empty hook up to the limit switch once, then down, before the first load. Inspect the cable for kinks or broken strands before each use.

What it is used for

Garage hoists are commonly used for engines and gearboxes, ATV and motorcycle lifts, deer and game, bicycles and kayaks on ceiling racks, and heavy boxed stock that should not be carried up a ladder. The single-line rating is the one to use for a straight vertical pull unless you have rigged the double line.

Safety notes

Never lift people. Never exceed the rating for the line configuration in use. Keep hands and feet clear of the load path, and do not walk or work under a suspended load. Do not use the hoist to drag a load sideways or to pull a vehicle. Check the mounting and the cable before each session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the capacity on the box single line or double line?

A: The spec table lists 1320 lb / 600 kg. In practice the single-line rating is 660 lb and the double-line rating is 1320 lb: doubling the cable through the pulley hook shares the load but halves the travel.

Q: How much cable travel is there?

A: 39.4 ft / 12 m on a single line, 19.7 ft / 6 m when the cable is doubled. The drum is the same; the doubled line simply uses two runs to cover the same distance.

Q: What controls the hoist?

A: wireless remote. The wireless remote is rated for up to 328 ft.

Q: Does the load drop when you let go of the button?

A: No. The auto-brake holds the load when the motor stops. That also means a suspended load stays suspended if power is lost, so never work underneath it.

Q: What stops the hook at the top?

A: A limit switch. When the hook reaches the upper limit the motor cuts out instead of pulling the block into the housing.

Q: Can it be used outdoors?

A: It is a 110 V mains hoist, so use it where the supply is protected from rain and where the mounting point is rated for the load. Do not leave it exposed to weather.

Q: What can this capacity lift?

A: At 660 lb single line it covers engines, gearboxes, ATVs, deer, bikes and boxed stock within that weight. Use the double line for anything between the two figures.

Q: How is it mounted?

A: To a structural beam, bracket or frame rated for the working load. The hoist body hangs from a top mount; the beam, not the hoist, carries the load.

Q: Can it pull a vehicle or drag a load sideways?

A: No. It is a vertical lifting hoist. Side pulls put the cable across the drum flange and are outside its design.

Q: What maintenance does it need?

A: Inspect the cable for kinks, flattening or broken strands before each use, keep the drum clean, and check the limit switch and brake with an empty hook at the start of a session.
