Load Capacity:

Key Features

Two load ratings, not one
650 lb (295 kg) on flat ground and 330 lb (150 kg) on stairs. The stair rating governs the moment the wheels touch a step, so plan the load around 330 lb.
Tri-wheel clusters, three per side
the cluster rolls over the step edge instead of dropping the whole load at once, which is what makes a stair cart feel steadier than a two-wheel dolly.
Aluminum frame at 19.84 lb
light enough to carry up a flight on its own, and it folds down for a closet, car trunk or van shelf.
17.72 x 7.09 in deck with two bungee cords
a narrow deck that fits between stair rails, with cords to keep boxes and appliances from sliding off during the climb.
TPR and PP wheels
rubber-like TPR tread grips the step edge while the PP core keeps the wheels light; the combination is meant for indoor and paved outdoor use rather than loose gravel.

Quick Answer

A folding aluminum stair-climbing cart with a tri-wheel cluster on each side, rated 330 lb (150 kg) on stairs and 650 lb (295 kg) on flat ground. The deck measures 17.72 x 7.09 in (450 x 180 mm), the cart weighs 19.84 lb (9 kg), and two bungee cords secure the load.

Description

At a Glance

A two-rating hand truck for deliveries, moves and groceries. The 650 lb figure applies only on flat ground; once the cart is on stairs, the limit drops to 330 lb. Three wheels per side roll over step edges, the aluminum frame folds for storage, and a telescoping pull handle keeps the load behind you on stairs.

Two Ratings, and Only One Applies on Stairs

This cart is rated 650 lb (295 kg) on flat ground and 330 lb (150 kg) on stairs. Those are not two ways of saying the same thing. The flat rating assumes the load is rolling on a level surface; on stairs, each wheel takes the load at an angle and the frame sees forces it does not see on concrete. Once the cart touches a step, 330 lb is the number that matters.

VEVOR Stair Climbing Cart 650 lbs Handle Version overview

How the Tri-Wheel Climb Works

Each side carries a cluster of three wheels. As you pull the cart up, one wheel contacts the step edge, then the next, so the load rises in smaller increments instead of dropping the full weight onto a single axle. That is the difference between dragging a box up a flight and rolling it.

The TPR tread grips the step edge and the PP core keeps the wheel light. The combination works indoors and on paved surfaces; loose gravel and soft ground are not what this wheel design is for.

Loading and Balance

Put the heaviest part of the load over the deck and toward the handle side, then strap it with the two bungee cords. A tall box that can shift is more dangerous than a heavier box that cannot. Keep the load centered on the 17.72 x 7.09 in deck rather than hanging over one edge.

Going Up and Coming Down

On the way up, tilt the cart toward you and pull; let the wheels do the lifting. On the way down, the load wants to run ahead of you, so keep the cart tilted back and take one step at a time. A lighter load on the descent is easier on your arms and the frame.

Storage and Transport

The aluminum frame folds and weighs 19.84 lb (9 kg), so it can live in a closet or the back of a van between jobs. Check the folded size against your storage space, and keep the wheels clean of grit so the clusters keep rolling freely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the weight limit on stairs?

A: 330 lb (150 kg) on stairs. The 650 lb (295 kg) rating applies to flat ground only, so treat 330 lb as the working limit for any move that involves steps.

Q: How many wheels does it have?

A: Six, arranged as a three-wheel cluster on each side. The clusters roll over step edges one wheel at a time, which is why the cart climbs rather than dropping between steps.

Q: Does it fold for storage?

A: Yes. The frame folds down, and at 19.84 lb (9 kg) it can be carried and stored in a closet, trunk or van without taking up much space.

Q: What size is the deck?

A: 17.72 x 7.09 in (450 x 180 mm). It is a narrow deck intended to fit between stair rails, so wide or unstable loads need strapping and careful balance.

Q: What can it carry?

A: Boxes, parcels, small appliances, groceries and office supplies. Keep the load centered over the deck, strap it with the two bungee cords, and do not exceed 330 lb on stairs.

Q: Will it work on any staircase?

A: It needs a defined step edge. Deep or rounded treads, loose carpet runners and uneven outdoor steps reduce stability. Take the climb slowly and keep the load balanced; do not use it on escalators.

Q: Is the handle adjustable?

A: It has a telescoping pull handle. Set the height so the load stays behind you on stairs and you are not reaching down or lifting with your back.

Q: Can it go up and down stairs?

A: Yes, the tri-wheel design works in both directions. Descending puts more load on your arms and the frame, so use a lighter load going down and keep the cart tilted toward you.
