Description
At a Glance
The 100 ft steel-cable kit includes a 6 mm cable, a ball-bearing pulley with silicone grips, a coil spring brake, a seat, a waist belt and a separate safety harness. The product graphic lists a 330 lb maximum; the supplier's setup note says teens, not adults. It is a backyard kit for a span clearly shorter than 100 ft.
100 ft Backyard Zipline Kit
The 100 ft kit is for a longer backyard span. The extra cable adds weight and needs more tension, so the anchors and the clear run-out matter more than they do on a 60 ft set. The kit still uses the same 6 mm steel cable, ball-bearing pulley and coil spring brake, and it packs to 18.96 lb. Measure the actual gap between the trees before choosing this size.

What is in the box: 6 mm steel cable, ball-bearing pulley with silicone grips, 6.4 ft coil spring brake, swing seat, waist belt, safety harness, two carabiners, turnbuckle, cable clamps, two tree protectors, storage bag and wrench.
How much space does a 100 ft zipline need?
The 100 ft figure is the length of the line supplied, not the distance a rider travels. The line has to reach both anchors, pass through the tensioning hardware, sag under the rider’s weight, and leave room for brake and a safe run-out. That means the horizontal gap between the anchors is shorter than 100 ft. Measure the actual gap, the height difference and the clear landing area before ordering. If the gap is close to the full kit length, step up to the next size so the ride still has a usable run.
- Measure the gap: use the horizontal distance between two sound anchor points, not the distance along the ground.
- Keep the low end clear: the rider and seat must clear the ground at full sag, with space beyond the end for the brake and run-out.
- Choose a soft landing: grass or another soft surface, never concrete, rocks, a fence or a driveway.
- Use a gentle slope: a steeper line is faster and harder to stop, especially for a child.
Braking and two-point safety
Braking is the main difference between this steel kit and the nylon sets. The coil spring mounts at the low end and absorbs the last part of the ride instead of letting the trolley hit a hard stop. Keep the spring straight, keep the cable centered in the stop block, and replace any bent or kinked spring. Do not remove the spring to make the line faster; that removes the part that protects the rider and the anchor. The kit also uses two separate body connections – a padded waist belt and a safety harness rope – so check the stitching, webbing and metal hardware before every session. A helmet is not included; use one.
Why this kit uses a steel cable
The main cable is 6 mm (about 0.24 in) steel wire rope. Steel has very little stretch, so it holds tension well and gives a consistent ride. It also stores energy: never stand in line with a tensioned cable, never let it snap loose, and never put a hand near the turnbuckle or clamps while the line is loaded. Use the included wrench, keep the cable clamps in the order shown in the manual, and recheck tension after the first few rides.
Installation checks that matter
Two sound anchor points are the foundation of the whole setup. Use live trees with a trunk that can take a sideways load, or rated posts designed for it. Do not attach to dead limbs, utility poles, fence posts, porch columns or a structure that has not been rated for this load. Wrap the included tree protectors under the strap or cable so the bark is not cut. Set the start higher than the finish, tension the line, and roll the empty trolley through the full length before the first ride. If any part of that sounds uncertain, hire an installer.
- One rider at a time. Keep other children out of the run-out and away from the tensioned line.
- Check the hardware: cable, clamps, turnbuckle, pulley, spring, carabiners, belt and harness.
- Dress for it: closed shoes, a helmet and no loose clothing, scarves or hood cords near the trolley.
- Recheck after the first rides: tension and clamps can settle as the line takes its working shape.
Who this size suits
The 100 ft kit is for a long garden or a property with two well-spaced trees. The coil is close to 19 lb, and a longer cable needs more tension and a longer clear run-out. It is a kids-and-teens kit, and it is not the best first choice for a small yard.
Compare the 100 ft kit with the other sizes
The table below keeps the differences in one place: line material, brake and packed weight. The 100 ft kit is highlighted. Longer does not mean stronger; every kit in this series uses the same 330 lb rider limit shown on the product graphics.
| Kit | Main line | Brake | Packed weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 52 ft nylon | Nylon line | No coil spring shown | 7.72 lb |
| 65 ft nylon | Nylon line | No coil spring shown | 8.22 lb |
| 60 ft steel | 6 mm cable | 6.4 ft coil spring | 15.65 lb |
| 80 ft steel | 6 mm cable | 6.4 ft coil spring | 17.59 lb |
| 100 ft steel (this kit) | 6 mm cable | 6.4 ft coil spring | 18.96 lb |
| 120 ft steel | 6 mm cable | 6.4 ft coil spring | 20.88 lb |
| 160 ft steel | 6 mm cable | 6.4 ft coil spring | 24.8 lb |
