I bought this for when we go outside but found it also works great inside. This zapper does exactly what it says it does, kill bugs. We did have 1 big fly that was hit by this and got stuck inside of the wires. The whole time it was on, it did burn and did kind of smell bad but majority of the time, it will kill the bug and sometimes just fall. That has really been the only time we get a smell from this zapper. Other than that, this zapper is really good and kills flies, gnats and even mosquitoes!
