Okay, here is the story: I use this pump as a very cheap alternative to circulate my hot tub. It is my second purchase as I thought i grilled the first one… I used it on a separate 110v circuit for weeks ; quieter and more efficient pumping than my old 700$ pump… I then wanted to plug it directly in my board, however, the first electrician inverted the order of the wires… not an issue for 220v as black and red and white and ground switched out does not change much… but on 110v I ended up using red and black (leading to 220v) instead of black and white (which should give 110v). I started the hot tub. the pump ran without any weird noises… started to smell burnt plastic… I checked the circuit board as I thought it was dust accumulation… then I saw this pump smoking and before turning of the power it stopped by itself. I was certain it was cooked so I ordered a new one … anyway I started dismantling the pump while it was still hot (pretty easy and straigthforward). WITHOUT removing any piping i was able to remove the core, leaving only the shaft and the prefilter head. Because the hottub had just been closed with the insulation taped back on it’s a big deal to me to be able to make a repair without touching any pipes… I checked the magnet core, insulation coating was darker because of the heat, but only at some areas… I checked for short circuit… it was fine!! I then put it back on with the right wiring… it ran (this time on 110v) with a remiscent smell, which went away in less than a day. I’ve never seen a pump surviving a thermal protection shutdown from a over voltage like this. clearly this is a sturdy pump. I had many 0.5 HP vevor pumps before… they survived being immersed in snow (then submerged in water) and started up.just fine when droed the next spring… but this takes the cake. REALLY GOOD produxt.

I ordered the VEVOR FlashPure Sand Filter Pump, 14 inch, 0.75 HP, 3500 GPH, and this system really impressed me right out of the box. Everything was packaged neatly and the unit comes with the filtration media already installed which saves a lot of setup time. The housing feels sturdy and the control valve is clearly labeled which makes the initial assembly very straightforward. Even without sand inside, the unit feels well built, although it is quite light when empty which is something to keep in mind when positioning it. The included hoses and fittings feel durable, and the clamps tighten evenly without slipping. Because it is winter here I cannot run it on my pool yet, but I did test the pump using buckets of water and the flow rate is excellent. It moves a surprising amount of water with strong pressure, and it primes quickly which is always a good sign for long term reliability. At 3500 gallons per hour, this filter can cycle an entire 12-foot round, 48-inch-deep pool in under an hour, which is impressive for a system in this price range. The motor runs smoothly and the sound level is reasonable for a pump of this size. One thing I really like is how easy it is to install. The hoses connect securely, the clamps tighten evenly, and the multiport valve feels smooth when switching between settings. The timer feature is a great bonus because it allows you to automate filtration cycles without needing a separate plug timer. Everything about the design feels user friendly which is ideal for above ground pool owners who want something simple but effective. The included media also means you do not have to buy sand separately which saves time and money. I could also see people using a filter like this for backyard ponds or water features because the flow rate is strong enough to handle larger bodies of water. The pressure it produces would be more than enough to run a waterfall or circulation loop. Once summer arrives, I am confident this pump will do an excellent job k
