18 Inch Split Rim Basketball Rim, 2 Springs
A replacement rim has to do two things: fit the backboard and absorb the load of a missed dunk. This 18-inch rim uses a 16 mm Q235 steel tube, an orange oil-spray finish and a nylon net. It is the split rim version with 2 springs.

The backboard is not included. This is the rim, net and mounting bolts. Check the bolt spacing on your backboard before ordering, and measure the height of the old rim so the new one goes back at the same level.
What the spring setup does
The split ring has a spring-loaded joint at the back, so the front of the rim gives under a hard dunk and springs back.
A sprung rim protects the backboard as much as the player. A fixed rim sends the whole load of a dunk into the glass or board; a spring-loaded rim gives first, then returns to level. The trade-off is a little more movement when the ball hits the front of the rim.
Fit and mounting pattern
The mounting plate is slotted to cover the common four-bolt backboard patterns rather than a single spacing. Measure the horizontal and vertical distance between the holes on your backboard, then compare it with the slot range.
- Rim inner diameter: 18 in / 460 mm
- Tube: 0.63 in / 16 mm
- Overall size: 23.03 x 18.9 x 6.69 in / 585 x 480 x 170 mm
- Weight: 11.68 lb / 5.3 kg
Regulation play uses a rim 10 ft (3.05 m) above the floor. If you are replacing a rim on an existing pole, keep the same height and check that the new bracket does not push the rim further out from the board.
Steel, finish and net
The ring is Q235 steel with an oil-spray coating. That finish is designed for outdoor use, but it is a coating, not stainless steel; touch up chips before rust spreads. The net is nylon with a red, white and blue pattern and fits the 18-inch ring.
Installation
- Support the backboard and remove the old rim and net.
- Clean the mounting face and check the board for cracks around the bolt holes.
- Hold the new rim in place and start the four bolts by hand. Check that the rim sits level before tightening.
- Tighten the bolts evenly, then hang the net from the loops around the ring.
- Pull down on the rim to check the spring return, and re-check the bolts after the first week of play.
Which version to choose
The split rim is the heaviest and the most forgiving at the joint. The one-piece rim with two springs is lighter and flexes at the plate. The one-piece rim with no springs is the simplest fixed option for a driveway hoop or a replacement where the old rim had no breakaway.
Ordering
One rim, wholesale pricing. The listed price is our wholesale rate for one rim with its net and bolts. There is no minimum order quantity and no separate tier price, so one rim and several rims cost the same per rim.
