I’ve tried several different versions of these from different brands, and the stiffer outer rubber coating on these makes all the difference. Without that rubberized layer, these are like yoga mats. I probably would choose the thickest option next time, but 0.56″ is acceptable.

For my gym I have the thick all rubber mats but I recently added a pendulum squat so I had to kick the leg extension machine across the way and it needed its own mat but I didn’t want the strong smell of rubber again and the sharp corners so this is a great alternative.

These floor mats are great!
I haven’t put these on my basement floor yet, but I can tell they are going to work very well. I plan to put them under an area rug in my craft room to help with long periods of standing while I work. It will be much better and more comfortable! I got the black with white flecks and I think they look cool. Super easy to clean, there’s a firm rubber top coat that makes it easy to wipe up spills and protects the foam from constant use. The thickness is about 1/2 inch, which is good for providing stability without being a trip hazard. I recommend getting the edging if you can to keep from damaging the fitted pieces. They interlock tightly which means no slipping.

This is a great soft yet firm product with a rubber surface. This was easy to piece together, is durable, comes in 2’x2′ interlocking squares and feels great to stand on. For myself, it is like an anti-fatigue mat to keep your back and legs from getting sore if your standing in one place too long. It’s also great on absorbing impacts from most things that accidentally get dropped. All in all, 5 star review.
