36 Inch Black Hairpin Table Legs, Set of 4
Hairpin legs are simple to fit and hard to get right: the height has to match the top, and the leg has to stay stiff under a loaded table. This set of four 36-inch legs uses three 3/8-inch steel rods per leg, a 4 mm mounting plate and a black powder-coat finish. They suit a counter-height table, bar table or standing desk.

The tabletop is not included. This is a set of four legs with mounting hardware and floor pads. You supply the top and the fasteners that suit its material.
Finished height
Leg height is measured before the top goes on. With a 1 in top, the finished height is about 37 in; with a 1.5 in top, about 37.5 in. Measure the chair, stool or counter the table will be used with, then choose the leg that lands on that number.
- Leg height: 36 in / 91.5 cm
- Finished height with a 1 in top: about 37 in
- Finished height with a 1.5 in top: about 37.5 in
Three rods, not two
Each leg is built from three 3/8 in (9.5 mm) steel rods. The third rod stiffens the hairpin and spreads the load across the mounting plate, which matters on a dining table or a bench that gets leaned on. The tube diameter is 0.39 in (10 mm).
The mounting plate is 4 mm thick, with pre-drilled holes. A thicker plate resists bending where the leg meets the top, which is the joint that usually fails first on a cheap set.
What the load rating means
Each leg is rated at 220 lb, and the set is listed at 880 lb with four legs. That set figure assumes the weight is spread evenly and the tabletop does not flex. A thin top, short screws, a heavy load on one corner or a table used as a step can fail well below the leg rating.
Keep the load centred, use fasteners long enough to bite into solid material, and check the table for wobble before putting weight on it. A cross brace or apron helps on long, narrow benches.
Mounting
- Turn the top face down on a protected surface.
- Set the four legs in place with equal overhang. Mark the holes through the mounting plate.
- Drill pilot holes sized for your screws. Do not drive screws into the end grain of a particle board top.
- Fix each plate with all its screws, then stand the table on a level floor and check for rocking.
- Fit the rubber floor pads and adjust the position of the legs if the table is not stable.
Floors and finishes
The black powder coat is a durable factory finish, but it can chip if a leg is dragged across concrete. The rubber pads in the box separate the steel from wood and tile floors and reduce movement. Wipe the legs with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive pads.
Ordering
One set, wholesale pricing. The listed price is our wholesale rate for one set of four legs. There is no minimum order quantity and no separate tier price, so one set and several sets cost the same per set.
